At TLG, every role is important.

The Organisation Chart below shows the structure of the Executive. There are 11 teams in WA, which all work together to make the Rural Program, eMentor and Tutoring Centre happen.

All executives attend 1 team meeting per week and work closely with their Manager to complete projects on time. The average time commitment for an executive officer role is 5-10 hours a week. Read through the role descriptions below to find out which role is for you!

University Club Presidents facilitate marketing, fundraising and alumni engagement at their respective universities. In order to do this effectively and efficiently, they host a variety of events and delegate various tasks and responsibilities to their club committee members.

We are currently looking for Club Presidents at UWA and ECU.

 
  • Leaders in all aspects of coordinator training, support and organisation with help from the Coordinator Support Manager and COO - this includes running 3 coordinator training sessions as a team, and nightly coordinator check-ins for the duration of the RP.

  • Aid in the writing of questions and conducting interviews for coordinator recruitment

  • Be the main point of contact on the Rural Program for emergencies and queries

Required skills: Past coordinator experience
*This role has a time commitment of about 6-7 hours per week.

 
  • Development and constant renewal of TLG’s educational program for the RP. 

  • Facilitate Interactive training days and run education segments of tutor training days.

  • Develop initiatives that enhance the student and tutor experience of education. 

Applicants must be Education students with an understanding of current education theory.

  • Overall aim is expansion of the eMentor program and increasing its sustainability

  • Works closely with other Executive teams for Marketing and Fundraising initiatives

  • Assists with recruitment and training for the eMentor program

  • Work with a co-Systems Officer to ensure the successful running of eMentor’s technical needs

  • Monitor and innovate student tracking procedures - enabling the program to be tailored to the needs of each individual mentee

  • Coordinate an eMentor program

  • Work with the eMentor team to create mentoring content, organise mentor recruitment and training, and work towards innovating a plan for the future of eMentor

Strongly desirable skills: Google Sheets and database experience

  • Responsible for running of the TLG store which includes packing, delivering and responding to customer feedback

  • Innovate new products for the TLG Store and source and liaise with suppliers.

  • Conduct market research for viability of new items and to identify trends in charity-based merchandise.

    Run store promotions such as raffles and giveaways at TLG events

  • Process expense claims and purchase orders

  • Issue invoices to Tutoring Centre clients

  • Process weekly payroll for the organisation

  • Respond to queries from Tutoring Centre clients regarding invoices

  • Looks after the wellbeing of Executive members through mentor initiatives, social events, and recognition of team and individual achievements

  • Provides support for Executive officers relating to role expectations and conflict resolution

  • Assists in Executive Recruitment and Executive Retreat each semester

  • Organise transport for the Rural Program, liaising closely with charter companies and TransWA

  • Plan and facilitate Tutor Training Days and Wind Up Day, working closely with the Logistics Manager

  • Liaise with other teams and other Logistics team members to develop training content and communicate deadlines with Tutors and Coordinators

  • Maintenance of the School Specific Databases

  • General systems support for Logistics

  • Processing of Policy Quizzes

  • Responsible for maintaining a positive relationship with TLG partner schools before handover to Coordinators

  • Research and recruitment of new partner schools

  • Responsible for collecting contracts from partner schools

 
  • Promote and run TLG Alumni, including the quarterly newsletter, to the appropriate audience

  • Responsible for the overall running of the Public Relations program including stakeholder contact

  • Assisting promotional activities for events and programs with sponsorship prizes

  • Communicate effectively to ensure the success of all partnerships

  • Guide the allocation of tutors to particular schools based on availability and school preferences

  • Organise and respond to reallocation and drop out queries from tutors for the Rural Program

  • Aid in the writing of questions and conducting interviews for the RP Recruitment Process

  • Help out with the recruitment processes of other teams (eMentor, TC) when required

  • Uphold the integrity of the recruitment process

  • Organise and schedule interviews for the RP Recruitment Process

This role calls for creativity! It provides a great opportunity to master the use of multiple online marketing platforms as well to develop organisational and interpersonal skills. Key tasks include:

  • Manage and maintain the TLG Tutoring Centre’s advertisements and online presence, using platforms such as Google Adwords, Facebook, Instagram, Gumtree and Tutorfinder

  • In charge of designing print and online promotional material such as posters, online ads, and marketing campaigns

  • Work closely with the TC Manager to achieve a large client and tutor base

  • Organises recruitment and induction of employed tutors

  • Ensures all tutors are satisfied and have access to resources, social opportunities and support in a positive group environment

  • First point of contact for all potential and employed tutors

  • Recognition of outstanding employees

The role of the Systems Officer is to ensure the behind-the-scenes logistics of the Tutoring Centre systems are running as efficiently as possible. Key tasks include:

  • Website updating and maintenance - making the experience as user-friendly as possible for clients and tutors, facilitate Search Engine Optimisation

  • Assisting with the transition of databases from Teachworks to TutorCruncher

  • Developing a Tutoring Resources Portal for the TC website

  • Contact point to provide support for the TutorCruncher platform
