Fortescue Metals Group

Fortescue Metals Group is a global leader in the iron ore industry, recognised for their unique culture, innovation and industry-leading development of world class infrastructure and mining assets in the Pilbara, Western Australia.


Since Fortescue was founded in 2003, they have discovered and developed major iron ore deposits and constructed some of the most significant mines in the world. They are focussed on their vision of being the safest, lowest cost, most profitable iron ore producer.

Goldfields Foundation

In meeting its objectives of actively working in its local communities, Gold Fields Australia established a separate foundation in 2003 as a vehicle to consider and lead sustainable community-based opportunities. The primary objective of the Gold Fields Australian Foundation is to contribute to long-term sustainability of the communities in which Gold Fields operates by supporting projects in the areas of education, health and small business development. The Foundation receives 80 cents for each ounces of gold that Gold Fields produces in Australia, half of which is invested to ensure the Foundation is self-sustaining, with the other half immediately available for investment in new projects. The Foundation is managed by a Board which meets on a quarterly basis to consider new projects.

Projects that have been supported so far include the Grass Roots Holiday Haven, Graham Farmer Found, Royal Flying Doctor Service, Leinster Primary School, Princess Margaret Hospital, Starlight Foundation, The Australian Red Cross, Kambalda Invalid Disability Support Centre, Coolgardie Community Care and Indigenous Scholarships.

Horizon Power


Horizon Power is a State Government-owned, commercially-focused corporation that provides high quality, safe and reliable power to about 100,000 residents and 10,000 businesses, including major industry, across regional and remote Western Australia. They are responsible for generating, procuring, distributing and retailing electricity supplies.

Horizon Power services 46,187 customer connections in the Pilbara, Kimberley, Gascoyne, Mid West and southern Goldfields (Esperance) regions, dispersed across an area of approximately 2.3 million square kilometres – about 10 times the size of Victoria. They manage 38 systems: the North West Interconnected System in the Pilbara and the connected network between Kununurra, Wyndham and Lake Argyle, and 34 stand-alone systems in regional towns and remote communities.

IGO is a mining and exploration company focusing primarily on mineral exploration and nickel, copper and zinc mining in Australia. Tate Family Foundation


The Tate Family Foundation was registered in 2010 and operates mainly in the Perth and wider Western Australian region. The Foundation predominantly supports charitable projects & organisations in Western Australia. The primary focus areas of the Foundation are childhood medical research, disadvantaged youth and animal welfare.

The financial support provided by the Tate Family Foundation has been invaluable, allowing TLG to continue to expand our programs to more students in more rural and regional areas of Western Australia.



Transwa operates the road coach and rail public transport system serving regional centres. Transwa road coaches service more than 240 regional WA locations spread across 29 routes, and operates 144 separate coach services a week. The network extends to Kalbarri, Geraldton and Meekatharra in the north, Augusta, Pemberton and Albany in the south-west and Esperance in the south-east.

Transwa operates 76 scheduled rail services every week across four routes: The Australind provides two daily return services between Perth and Bunbury, The Prospector provides a daily return service between Perth and Kalgoorlie, and an additional service on Mondays and Fridays. The AvonLink provides three Northam-to-Midland return services on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday (except public holidays), one return service on a Wednesday and one return service on the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday). The MerredinLink operates between Perth and Merredin on Wednesdays.
