Show your support for Teach Learn Grow in this year’s Officeworks Make a Difference Appeal

1 June, 2023

This June, Officeworks is hosting its annual Make A Difference Appeal to raise money for local causes across Australia. This year’s Appeal will focus on supporting charities – including Teach Learn Grow - that enable children to learn, create and connect for a sustainable future.

Teach Learn Grow is one of 15 local community organisations selected by Officeworks store team members to be supported in this year’s Appeal based on what felt most relevant to their local communities.

Teach Learn Grow CEO Bridget Staude, explained how the appeal will support the organisation:

"The funds donated from the Officeworks’s Make a Difference Appeal go directly to supporting children in remote WA who are experiencing educational disadvantage. The education inequality between regional and metropolitan students in Western Australia is a little-known issue, but TLG is working to provide extra tutoring support to kids in need and to create awareness of the education gap. The funding from this program will allow TLG to send a group of volunteer university and Tafe students to visit a school in a remote part of WA to provide a week of one-on-one maths tutoring to kids who are on average 5 times below the minimum maths standards."

Now in its sixth year, the Make a Difference Appeal is held as part of Officeworks’ People & Planet Positive Plan commitments to make a positive difference in the communities it operates. Last year’s Appeal raised more than $1 million for 14 charities across Australia.

Officeworks Managing Director Sarah Hunter said: “At Officeworks, we want to help make bigger things happen for our community, and each year our Make A Difference Appeal provides an opportunity for us to spotlight the important work of local organisations that are close to our hearts. The fundraising efforts of our customers and teams this June will help to ensure that these organisations can continue their important work within their local communities and help make a positive difference to the lives of children by enabling them to learn, create and connect.”

For the month of June, customers in East Vic Park, Subiaco, Fremantle, Bunbury, Cannington, Mandurah, O'Connor and Jandakot will be encouraged to donate to the Appeal to support Teach Learn Grow at the check-out in store or online.
